From the beginning, God’s people have offered back to Him the first and best of what they received, but not as payment or obligation. It was a sign that our lives belong to Him. It was an act of worship.
"Both riches and honor come from you, and you rule over all. In your hand are power and might, and in your hand it is to make great and to give strength to all. And now we thank you, our God, and praise your glorious name. But who am I, and what is my people, that we should be able thus to offer willingly? For all things come from you, and of your own have we given you." 1 Chronicles 29:12-14.
When we give we are not funding an institution, we are participating in worship. Giving is worship; it is a visible representation of our gratitude and trust. In the words of St. John Chrysostom, “The rich man is not one who keeps, but one who gives.” Our generosity becomes a liturgy of love and a way of joining heaven and earth through thanksgiving.
Your offerings help Christ Our King function by equipping it to carry out the spiritual, missional, and functional works necessary for the church to thrive. It supports our Rector and Administrator, who work to lead and build the Church. It supports services, outreach, ministries, programs, and discipleship. It provides a building and a sacred place of worship.
Thank you for your joyful and faith-filled giving to the Lord and for your support of Christ Our King.
